The sweetest sound

More of a personal post than a business-related one – but I thought it would be a fun one to start my new ‘video-post’ series!

If you are expecting, and interested in booking a maternity session, I recommend booking our session somewhere between 32-35 weeks (read more tips for your maternity session).  For the newborn session, it’s best to try to get in within the first 7-14 days (the earlier the better I say!)

Ok – just had to share this happy news!  (a quick poll – the heart rate was 147 – does the old wives tale YOU know say this means it will be a boy….or a girl?  – Share your guess in the comments!)

(up next – for real! – the mamma-to-be!)

Congratulations! As a new mother I believe sleeping while your little one is sleeping is a survival tip…you must be wondering how on earth you’re ever going to put down that camera of yours when you’ve got such a precious little one sleeping right in front of you?

GIRL!!! Both mine were in that range as well but that is why it is called a wives tale, you never know.
PS do you have a price list for your new albums? I would like to get one for our session shots

147 to me means it’s a little girl … for my three it was true (daughter was 145 and my boys were 130 and 135). Also my nieces all had heart rates over 140 while “on the inside” and there are 4 of them! Thanks for sharing your wonderful news! The tips given about maternity photos are very thought provoking … this is why I always left it up to the professionals!!

Excellent post Erin. What a great idea! (And how exciting!!)

Growing….growing…

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly children change!  I think sometimes we don’t realize it – especially when you are the parent.

But, then, you find yourself looking at a photo take just 12 weeks ago, and you gasp at how different your little one looks!

I was fortunate to be able to capture this little guy’s brother during his first year, and we are on track to do the same for Jasper! (can’t have him be the photo-less second child…like I was!)

So – be sure to get out those cameras, and snap these early days! (and then remember to print some…maybe it’s just a personal bias, but images in print speak to my heart much more than a jpg ever can!)

WARNING:  If you send out hubbie to get a new white t-shirt for the photo shoot, he may come home with matching family jerseys! (little Seamus seem to enjoy his, and hearing him chant “Go Canada Go” was priceless!)Coming up next…a new mamma-to-be (who graciously agreed to model for the lighting workshop!  I’ll post some student photos too!)
