Coles Turns 1!

It has been a busy few weeks, with the move and getting ready for a baby – safe to say, I’m a tad behind on my posts.

Here’s a quick ‘video’ from the very last session in my old place…young Cole, just after his first birthday!

Here is a little preview of one of Kamloops’ newest residents…Logan.

He made an excellent model, snoozing for long periods of time……he also did an excellent job keeping the ‘accidents’ equal for both mom & dad!
(look at those lips!! Too cute!)

And here he is with big brother, Carter (who had LOTS of kisses for his new baby brother!) And here’s a peek at more of the session….

Ms. Elyssa just turned one…and to capture this milestone moment, we got into some messy fun!

But first, here’s a few shots while we were still squeaky clean!

I’m lovin’ the little teeth!

In the past, I’ve made some of the cakes for our birthday sessions…but, let’s just say “cake decorating” in NOT my forte!

I recently discovered “Sweet Spot Cupcakes“ – who crafted this fantastically beautiful work of art!

(it was almost too beautiful to smash)

But…’Stare at the Cake’ just doesn’t have the same ring as “Smash”…so smash we did!

I love this last shot…she seems to be saying, “What? I didn’t do anything…I have no idea how I got chocolate on my face…”

Mother Nature finally cooperated for a day of more pettiskirt fun!

Unsure of the billowing mass of pink ruffles surrounding her, Marissa wasn’t initially sold on the pettiskirt idea (and I think she was wondering who the crazy lady was with the big belly and big black box in front of her face!)

Luckily, the draw of water was enough to distract her for awhile, as she hammed it up creekside for us!

And of course, there is no denying the appeal of rocks, or ants, or other things found along a park path.

(Just look at those lashes – beautiful!)I’ll be posting some more from the day shortly…but, must run for a 1st b-day shoot, complete with messy cake madness! (and on that note – for the coolest cakes in town – check out ‘Sweet Spot Cupcakes‘ (now up by Cdn Tire on Hillside)

Here’s a sneak peek at a session from this weekend.

Mr. Elliot enjoys ‘acqua’, cool dudes (sunglasses), apples, balloons and shapes…and of course, mom & dad!’

He also enjoys being ‘lifted’ – well done mom for being able to “toss & smile!”

Now…I’m not sure he loves getting smooched on camera…that look might be saying “get me outta here!”

I love it!

Little Ms. Julia | 6 month baby shoot

I recently had the pleasure of capturing some 6 month photos for Ms. Julia (and family). While there is no denying I just love newborn session, this stage has to be my second favourite!

Around 6 months, these little peanuts are sitting up on their own (but they can’t crawl off the backdrop yet!), they have the best facial expressions, and they just a lot of fun! (and it’s a great age to do some ‘birthday suit’ photos!)

Well…something happened – little Ms. Layla has arrived!

Sweet, sleepy, peaceful little angel. She slept and slept and seemed rather content to let us move her here, there, and everywhere.

Why is it so important to try to get in for the newborn shoots early – 2 words:

BACK WRINKLES!

Congratulations E & J – life will never be the same again
(and as I can only still imagine, I’m sure you would never want it to be!)
