I specialize in child photography. I have photographed close to a thousand children over the past few years. I’ve learned some great tricks to help our sessions run smoothly. I’ve also learned that the only sessions parents regret are the ones they never booked!
I cannot tell you the number of times I have heard parents say they wished they had gotten more photos of their children when they were babies.
During this first year, their looks change so much…their sweet smiles, their goofy grins…their personalities emerge. It just truly is a remarkable time!

What’s does Prairie Child’s ‘Baby’s First Year’ Involve?
With the ‘Baby’s First Year’ club, your little one will come in for 4 sessions over the year.
Session #1
Around 3 months old, your baby can hold her head up and smile.
Session #2
Around 6 months, your baby will be sitting up on her own. Best photographed nude, to capture all the little sweet baby bits.
Session #3
Around 9 months, your little one will be standing up on their own, or with the help of a chair or other prop (this is right around the ‘first steps’ moment!)
Session #4
Happy Birthday! This session happens when your little one has their first birthday. Ask about a ’smash the cake’ series (messy – but good fun!)
What you WON’T find at the “Baby’s 1st Birthday’ Club…
Over-the-top backdrops that look dated before you even get your photos home or tons of props! I use simple backdrops for a timeless, classic look that your family will cherish for generations.
You also won’t find any hard-pressure sales tactics.
Don’t be fooled by cheap studios that offer a stressful, rushed experience where you end up paying more than you expected for photos that are less than you had hoped for.

Prairie Child Photography is a boutique-style photography studio. I’m the owner and sole photographer. When you book with Prairie Child, you know exactly who will be taking your baby’s photos – for the first session, right through to the birthday photo. That’s a good thing!
But, being the sole photographer with my very own little peanut due to arrive mid-August, it also means there are limited spaces in the Baby’s First Year Club (when you book your maternity or newborn portraits with Prairie Child, you are guaranteed a spot in the club!)
How much to ‘join the club?’
There are 3 different levels of membership starting at $125, so you can pick the one that’s right for you! But whatever the level, at the end of the year you will have beautiful, high quality portraits of your baby’s first year.
Each level includes 4 mid-week sessions* that can be booked at ~3, 6, 9 months and 1 year (we’ll talk about stages vs ages at our initial consult). Additional special portrait offers will be available after each session.
